Mississauga’s Urban Forest is important to the city’s environmental, social and economic wellbeing. The city’s 2.1 million trees help to filter pollution, increase shade, provide natural habitat for wildlife, encourage active living and reduce exposure to certain environmental risks. National Forest Week is observed annually during the last full week of September (Sunday through Saturday). To learn more about Mississauga’s National Forest Week event or to RSVP, visit: onemilliontrees.ca.
