Explore New and Exciting Places During Mississauga's Free Doors Open Event

On Saturday, October 1, the City of Mississauga, in collaboration with local arts, culture and heritage organizations, is hosting its free Doors Open event. During the day, residents can explore more than 40 places of interest and learn about art, heritage, architecture and places of worship. Participating sites include historical houses, natural spaces, architectural buildings and cultural centres.

A glimpse of participating Mississauga sites include:
Heritage House Dental – 820 Britannia Rd. W.
This 100-acre agricultural property has been transformed and adaptively reused into a modern dental office. Enjoy guided tours of the space and learn more about the facility.

The Grange (aka Adam-Robinson House) – 1921 Dundas St. W.
Heritage Mississauga hosts an aboriginal Teaching Gathering with Elders from the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nations & the Metis Nation of Ontario. Learn about medicines, water, fire, ceremony, singing & drumming.

Streetsville Historical Village Walking Tour (10 a.m. and 2 p.m.) – 280 Queen St. S.
Learn about Streetsville’s founding families, historical homes and buildings that have given the neighbourhood its charm for more than 150 years.

About Doors Open
Doors Open is a provincial program that launched in 2002 under the Ontario Heritage Trust with the goal of providing "special" access to art, cultural and heritage sites. The program impacts local communities as participants spend more than $5 million annually across the province. Doors Open Mississauga is a part of Culture Days, a three day celebration of arts, culture and heritage.
