Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee Forum

Jun 08, 2006

The Mississauga Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is hosting "Developing a Universal Design Lens for City Planning", a forum presented by Paul Tubbe, chair of Vancouver's Advisory Committee on Disability Issues.

When:
June 13, 2006 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Where:
Mississauga Valley Community Centre
1275 Mississauga Valley Community Centre
Hazel McCallion Room

What:
This forum organized by the City of Mississauga will explore accessibility, "visitability" and universal design.  Participants will learn how to incorporate universal design into urban planning models for interior accessibility.

"This interior design forum was a logical progression as the first two accessibility forums featured transportation and exterior design," said Carol MacEachern, chair of the AAC.  "From these ongoing sessions we aim to not only raise awareness but find solutions."

For more information on the forum and the City's Accessibility Plan please contact the City of Mississauga's Accessibility Advisory Coordinator, Diana Simpson, at 905-615-3608, TTY: 905-615-3411.
