2017 Designated Heritage Property Grants Awarded

Jun 12, 2017

In May, Mississauga City Council approved $55,831 in matching funding to Mississauga’s designated heritage property owners for the purposes of helping with the conservation and preservation of their properties through the 2017 Designated Heritage Property Grants Program. Eleven property owners were awarded funding for grant eligible projects.

“Heritage is all around us in Mississauga,” said Paul Damaso, Director, Culture Division, City of Mississauga. “The heritage grants recognize Mississauga’s commitment to help conserve and protect properties that are vital to telling our most important heritage stories.”

According to Damaso, the 2017 Designated Heritage Property Grants Program opened February 17, 2017. At that time, heritage property owners were encouraged to apply for funding. Through this program the City is working to meet the goals of the City's Heritage Management Strategy. The strategy focuses on protecting the city’s heritage and promoting awareness and understanding of heritage requirements and initiatives.
