Tour de Mississauga is back for its 10th anniversary. On Sunday, September 17, thousands of cyclists will participate in Mississauga’s largest cycling event. Hosted by the City of Mississauga, Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee (MCAC) and SustainMobility, riders will have the chance to discover the city by bike.
Leading up to the Tour, the City of Mississauga challenged residents to ride their bikes, log kilometres and reach a goal of 150,000 kilometres to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. Since starting on June 29, residents have achieved the goal and continue to exceed it. The City will reward riders by planting over 1,000 trees and inviting participants who cycled 150 kilometres to a tree planting event to thank them for contributing toward the community goal.
This year, Tour de Mississauga is offering rides for all ages and skill levels including beginner family rides of five and 10 kilometres as well as advanced rides of 25 and 50 kilometres for those who are up for the challenge.
After the Tour, participants can enjoy complimentary ice cream at the finish line, where a closing ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tour de Mississauga will take place.
