Meadowvale Theatre Unveils New Season Lineup

Sep 19, 2017

Fall is finally here and so is Meadowvale Theatre’s 2017-2018 season.

“Our new 2017-2018 season focuses on programming that celebrates diverse artistic and cultural expression,” said Melissa Agius, Manager, Performing Arts, City of Mississauga. “We’re offering a collection of creative and fun experiences with performances geared towards theatre lovers of all ages.”

This season offers seven performances including Pete the Cat. Sponsored by Partner Hotel: Four Points by Sheraton Meadowvale, this family-friendly show puts the meow in Meadowvale this fall and features a groovy blue cat that gets caught rocking out after bedtime. This production focuses on an adventure of friendship in a welcoming and sensory-friendly environment.

The “Nearly World-Famous” DuffleBag Theatre is back with a unique and interactive theatrical experience of Beauty and the Beast. This bilingual performance brings the classic fairy tale back to life by inviting audience members on-stage to participate.

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen will be performing Anastasia, a show about the Russian Grand Duchess, Anastasia. The ballet follows the daughter of the fallen Russian Tsar through the ballrooms of St. Petersburg, the Russian Revolution and finally to captivity. The tragic story of an innocent girl born to privilege and cast into a fierce world makes for an extraordinary tale.

The last show this season is by Second City alumna Anne Marie Scheffler who will be performing Suddenly Mommy. This hilarious, one-woman show focuses on every mom’s experiences of good times, bad advice and trying to do it all.

Special thanks to Meadowvale Theatre 2017-2018 season’s food sponsor Domino’s Pizza.

In addition to these performances, Music Theatre Mississauga will be presenting its 25th season of the Encore Series, a series of five musicals. The musicals include: South Pacific; Irving Berlin's White Christmas; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Mel Brooks’ The Producers; and Chess The Musical.
