PHOTO OP: Mississauga Fire Receives Safety-Related Grant from Enbridge

Next Thursday, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES) will officially receive a cheque for a grant worth $10,000 from Enbridge Inc.

The grant is part of Enbridge's Safe Community program which provides financial support to first responders when acquiring new safety-related equipment, obtaining professional training and delivering safety-related educational programs.

With the funds received through the Safe Community grant, MFES will purchase:

• thirty-five single gas carbon monoxide detectors
• twelve multi-gas detectors
• seven calibration/docking stations with electronic data logging capabilities

BACKGROUND:

Enbridge Safe Community Program

The Safe Community program awards grants to local first-response emergency services, including firefighters and rescue services, emergency medical services and ambulance organizations in rural communities across North America. Enbridge’s Safe Community program has existed in the U.S. since 2002, and in Canada since 2009 and has invested approximately $10.7 million in North American emergency responder organizations since its inception.
