MISSISSAUGA, December 23, 2003 - Mayor Hazel McCallion and members of Council will throw open the doors of City Hall to usher in the new year and mark the City's 30th anniversary in 2004.
The Mayor's New Year's Day Levee is an annual tradition for thousands of Mississauga residents who eagerly line up to greet Mayor McCallion and members of Council and offer their best wishes for the upcoming year. Because of the milestone anniversary, this year's event is expected to draw even larger crowds. The festivities will take place on January 1, 2004 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event also offers an afternoon of fun, free entertainment and activities for the family. There will be two venues of live entertainment, a prize raffle draw, free refreshments, free skating, airbrush artists and balloon clowns. The Art Gallery of Mississauga will be open to showcase Visual Arts Mississauga's 26th Annual Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts.
