Mississauga Transit will continue the tradition of providing passengers free service on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2003 from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. on January 1, 2004. This free service is again sponsored by Labatt Breweries Ontario, Viacom Outdoor and Obie Media. Community support has been provided by the Peel Regional Police and Canadians for Safe and Sober Driving/Against Drunk Driving.
"Labatt is proud of its long-standing commitment of promoting the responsible use of alcohol," said Bob Chant, director, public relations of Labatt Breweries Ontario. "Mississauga is a very important community to us and we are thrilled to be working with Mississauga Transit once more to offer this program. We want revelers to have fun on New Year's Eve, but we encourage all to drink responsibly and Know When to Draw The Line."
"Let Mississauga Transit get you home free and safe on New Year's Eve," said Bill Cunningham, director of Mississauga Transit. "A sincere thanks goes out to our corporate sponsors and the many transit drivers working on this festive evening. Without their support, this free and valuable community service would not be possible."
For the late night festivities, extended service is available on routes 1, 3, 5A, 9, 11, 13, 19, 23, 26, 34, 36, 40, and 48.
