The City of Mississauga created the Culture Division in 2007 to foster growth and
sustainability of the sector. The Office, through its policy and programming initiatives, plays
an integral and strategic role in the growth of the City for the 21st Century.
The Office positions itself on the cusp of arts, culture, technology, architecture and urban
design. It will play an integral and strategic role in the growth plan of the city for the 21st
century.
The Office will focus on sustaining the sector, embracing the role of technology, creating
partnerships with industry, research and education to forge innovative program initiatives. It
will also focus on youth, diversity, consolidation of community arts and professional arts and
public art, which will provide a world class experience in arts and culture.
The Office is responsible for the policy and program development and delivery of services in
art and culture.
The Office has a dynamic team whose staff, volunteers and partners are committed to working
together to make Mississauga a desirable art and culture destination.
