Description: A soft cover booklet. The cover is red and brown divided vertically into the two colours. There is a large crest in the centre and the title at the bottom. The booklet was issued by the publisher on the occasion of the first visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada - a 29 day cross country tour. The booklet includes other stories of previous visits by members of the Royal Family. The front cover has a half circle water stain beside the crest on the brown side. There is a coat of arms on the back cover.

The visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada in 1939 marked the first time a reigning monarch had visited the country. The King and Queen travelled across Canada with Prime Minister Mackenzie King and then briefly visited the United States. The Monarch’s were greeted with enthusiastic fanfare on all their stops as huge numbers of excited Canadians turned out to see the Royals. One of the main reasons for the royal tour was a desire to strengthen the Canadian connection to Britain in view of the increasing threat of war in Europe.
