Description: A oval glass paperweight etched with the following: 'Clarkson Village Set. 1808'. Paperweight also has an image of a man driving a horse and cab with the driver holding the reins in one hand and a whip in the other. The glass is smooth on the upper surface but indented 2 mm on the reverse. Paperweight sits inside a small, square cardboard box that is supported by a thin piece of foam.

Clarkson celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2008. Annemarie Hagan, Museums Manager, was part of the Clarkson 1808 committee that helped to celebrate this anniversary with a large event held on June 21st. This event was a huge success and was held along Lakeshore Road with activities that included horse and wagon rides, a historic fashion show, musical entertainment, kidís crafts and much more. Year long activities were also held including historic walking tours, a lecture series and other events held at the Museums. An appreciation breakfast was held at Benares Historic House on Sept. 23, 2008 to thank sponsors and volunteers. This paper weight was given to all the committee members for their hard work and dedication
