DAILY LIFE IN UPPER CANADA
Daily Life in Upper Canada:A journey to British North America. Students are encouraged to explore the Bradley family's experience in British North America. The family, arriving as Loyalists in the latter part of the 18th century, would have encountered a very different daily life in the new settlement. They would have also observed the conflicts and change that occurred during the War of 1812 and the 1837 Rebellions. Learn how an everyday family persevered and flourished through a changing era. (Ties in with Social Studies Unit, History--Conflict & Change)

Grade 7; Cost $4.25/student; Duration: 1-1.5 hours; Offered year-round, excluding Christmas season (mid November to year-end) and the entire month of March.

HANDS-ON THE PAST 2
Learn about life in Upper Canada through a hands-on exploration of artifacts. Tour the historic house, and learn about working in a historic house museum and the processing, care and handling of the artifact collection. (Ties in with Social Studies Unit, History--Conflict & Change)

Grade 7; Cost $4.25/student; Duration: 1-1.5 hours; Offered year-round, excluding Christmas season (mid November to year-end) and the entire month of March.

SEASONS OF CHANGE
This program traces daily life in Canada from Confederation through World War One. The Harris family came to Benares 30 years before Confederation. Learn about their experiences as Canada became a country and the pattern of their daily lives changed through the turn of the century and into the dark days of the Great War. (Ties into Social Studies Unit, History--Canada: A Changing Society)
