Description: William Barber commissioned this elegant estate in 1862. After establishing mills in Georgetown, Barber and his brothers set up the Toronto Woolen Mills, just outside of Streetsville, in 1843. The building exemplifies the "straightforward square house" recommended in "The Canadian Farmer" magazine in 1865.
