Description: A typewritten transcript of "An Acct of the Family of the Sproules Since Year 1669" on four sheets of plain white office paper. Typing is only on the front of each sheet. The content is a history of the Sproule family since 1669. Each generation is given a number, and there are 7 generations accounted for in this. It is signed: "Francis Sproule, Senior. May 2nd 1845". Below that reads: "N:15:" and has a synopsis of what each number covers.

This item is part of a box of original papers, transcripts, research notes, and newspaper clippings compiled and transcribed by Geoffrey and Kathleen Sayers. Kathleen's love of history led her to do intensive research into Geoffrey's family history. Geoffrey's paternal and maternal ancestors were some of the first settlers in Toronto Township and were notable members of the community.

The Sproule and Magrath families are connected through the marriage of Delia Acton, great grand daughter of Anne Sproule who married John Plummer of Athlone, Ireland. Ane and John Plummer had 5 daughters; the eldest Ann Plummer, married James Acton of Athlone; they had a daughter Delia Acton who married Thomas Magrath, the father of Rev. James Magrath and Geoffrey Sayers' great, great, great grandfather.
