|Description: A decorative cover for a throw pillow. Made from a larger cover (42.7 x 42.8 cm) that was torn at the closed end. The closed end has been turned inside (the tear closed with large cross stitches in cord-like thread) basted in place, and the end whip-stitched closed. The facing of the opening, and the side seam are machine-stitched. The opening is trimmed with a crochet edging whip-stitched in place. The edging is 4 cm deep, with the pattern repeated at 4 cm intervals. |
Pillowcases are used as a cover for pillows. They can be simple to quite elaborate, used more for decoration or a throw pillow. Pillowcases also protect from the fillings of the pillow (feathers, cotton etc) from getting everywhere.
