Description: Coloured photograph of Mayor Hazel McCallion giving a speech, at the Port Credit Arena (?) in Mississauga before the NHL Oldtimers hockey game.

Organized hockey in the Mississauga area began with the formation of the Toronto Township Hockey League in 1946 and included teams from Cooksville, Streetsville, Erindale, Clarkson, Lorne Park, Lakeview, Cloverleaf, Malton and Burnhamthorpe. The leagues first president was Mr. Alf McCallum. In 1968 the league became the Mississauga Hockey League.

The NHL Oldtimers are retired NHL players that participated in various charity hockey games across communities in Canada; the players usually play against current NHL players, local community hockey teams as well as local fire and police forces.
