Description: A large rectangular splint basket bound to a bent wood rim around the top opening of the basket. The sides are straight with two openings for handles at each end.

A basket is a container which is traditionally constructed from stiff fibres, often made of willow. Wood, bamboo, wheat, other grasses, rushes, twigs, osiers or wicker are also often used to make baskets. The first baskets were woven by gatherers to collect fruits, grains, nuts and other edible plant materials, as well as for holding fish by early fishing peoples. _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basket_
