Description: A beige cashmere cape with a collar that slopes to form a 'V' in the back. The collar is trimmed with quilted satin. The body of the robe is made up of two cape sections. The first section is a short cape trimmed on all of the edges with quilted satin that has been cut into a scallop-like design on the inner edge. The second cape section is longer than the first and placed inside it. This section is trimmed only down the front edges.

Cape worn by father of donor, Thomas who was born in Scarborough, England on Sept 12, 1873. Thomas lived in Hamilton and later settled in Toronto. His daughters, Helen and Fanny were famous dancers who ran a successful dancing school in Toronto. Helen and Fanny retired from dancing in late 1960s and moved to Port Credit where they continued to teach until 1983.
