|Description: Wooden skein winder, brown stain. Frame set in square shaped base supported by two pieces of wood. Large wooden wheel and handle to wind skein. Above and parallel to the wheel is a long piece of wood attached to each side of the frame. Above the wood piece is a removable piece of wood with small wheel for bobbins. A small wooden peg keeps bobbin winder in place. |
The skein winder is used to make yarn into skein. Skein is a long coil of yarn twisted into a loose knot that is used when weaving. Niddy noddies are also used to wind skein.
