Description: A tiny silver spoon with a round bowl. The handle is about 4.7 cm long including a round silver ball on the end. The cylindrical handle bends down at an angle where it joins the bowl. The back of the handle is stamped but the marks are undecipherable.

Salt spoons were used with a salt dish during a time when salt was a much more consumed condiment. Because of its popular use it required its own dish and accompanying spoon. With changes in taste, and the current views on the dietary hazards of excessive salt consumption this presentation style is no longer used. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_spoon
