Description: A colour photograph with small rounded corners. Photograph of a MPP Robert Douglas Kennedy and young school kids planting a tree outside old Mississauga City Hall. Mr. Kennedy is wearing a dark coloured jacket with hat and he is helping a young boy digging into the ground with a shovel. Other school children are seen standing around the gentleman and young boy.

Tree planting occurred on April 21, 1982. A sugar maple tree was planted in front of Mississauga's old City hall to commemorate the signing of the Canadian Constitution. The tree was to be uprooted later on and replanted on the new Mississauga Civic Centre. (Toronto Star, Tuesday April 20, 1982. Page WE06)

Robert Douglas Kennedy was born in Cooksville (June 15, 1916 -May 2003) was a member of the PC party of Canada and served as a MPP for Mississauga South. He started out in politics with the Ontario Government in 1967.
