Description: A tinned iron bedchamber candlestick with round concave or saucer-shaped base. A handle is attached to the edge of the base. The cylindrical candlestick rises from the centre of the base. There is a rectangular opening in the candlestick side for a lever to raise or lower the candle. The lever is missing.

Chambersticks were used to bring candles into the bedroom at night before electricity was used in homes. Chambersticks usually had a shorter body to hold the candle and a large round pan underneath to catch wax drippings as the candle was moved from room to room.
