Description: A pruning saw that has a wooden handle, with two screws holding the blade to it. The blade has jagged teeth on both the top and bottom.

Pruning saws are used in the garden and orchard for pruning fruit trees and for shaping individual trees for ornament. They are also used for removing dead lower branches from coniferous trees, to permit access and to lessen the risk of fire. See: R.A. Salaman "Dictionary of Woodworking Tools: c.1700-1970" (Newton, Connecticut: The Taunton Press, 1990), 431.
