Description: Black and white glossy photo of a group of boys and a man. Most of the boys are holding a baseball bat and a glove. There are two boys closer to the centre of the photo. One of them is holding a trophy. To his right there is a boy who is wearing a t-shirt that says "Township of Toronto." The photo has serrated edges.

The Toronto Township Recreation Department formed in 1947 and began to offer organized sports and recreation to residents. Jerry Love was hired in 1959 to organize sport clinics for youth in summer playgrounds across the township.

The park shown here is tentatively identified as A. E. Crookes Park located at 855 Goodwin Road. The park was named after local businessman Albert Crookes and was a 6 acre park used as a neighbourhood sports facility.
