Description: Two matching pins or brooches. Costume jewellery. The brooch has an ordinary pin/clasp at the back with no 'lock' type closure. Both pins are used on either side of the neck of a black velvet cape. The pin is key shaped and made of metal and set with small glass stones.

These pins were found on a black velvet cape that was part of the outfit that Mrs. Stager wore to her graduation in 1947. Her graduation was held at the Scottish Rite in Hamilton. Jean Stager graduated with a nursing degree from Hamilton General Hospital.

Mrs. Jean Stager (b. 1924) and her late husband, William, moved to Lorne Park in 1952 after marrying in 1949. The Stagers had two children: Graeme and Sheila, both graduates from Lorne Park Public School and Lorne Park High School. Mr. and Mrs. Stager stayed in Lorne Park in the same house for 43 years, living at 1197 Streambank Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Stager moved to Oakville in the mid 1990s. While in Mississauga Jean worked as a nurse at Mississauga Hospital as well as a VON in Peel; William worked in Toronto as an Engineer and took the GO Train to work every morning.

Mrs. Jean Stager remains a Charter member of the Clarkson Road Presbyterian Church; its congregation celebrated 50 years in 2007. Over the years Mrs. Stager also participated on the Home and School Society for Lorne Park Public School and at one time was on the Auxiliary of the Mississauga Symphony.
