Description: A colour photograph with small rounded corners. Photograph of kids planting trees around the old Mississauga City Hall. A blond haired boy wearing a jean jacket is standing in the centre and holding a shovel. MPP Robert Douglas Kennedy is seen wearing a suit and hat. He is standing behind the boys.

This tree planting event occurred on April 21, 1982. A sugar maple tree was planted in front of Mississauga's old City hall to commemorate the signing of the Canadian Constitution. The tree was to be uprooted later on and replanted at the new Mississauga Civic Centre. (Toronto Star, Tuesday April 20, 1982. Page WE06).

Robert Douglas Kennedy (June 15, 1916 - May 2003) was born in Cooksville. He was a member of the PC party of Canada and served as a MPP for Mississauga South. He started out in politics with the Ontario Government in 1967.
