Description: The quilt has raw wool padding and is machine and hand sewn. It is backed with a piece of printed cotton that has a brown ground with tiny cream dots. The decorated side of the quilt is comprised of two narrow side stripes of greenish-pink dress silk taffeta, while the centre strip is a piece of fine light-weight, light-brown wool embroidered in a triangular blue floral design with black velvet appliqué flowers across the centre of the panel. Over the centre panel are alternately placed red, blue, and green woollen yarn pompoms. History: The quilt is from Beeton, Ontario, in the late-nineteenth-century.
