Description: A newspaper clipping regarding the death of Lieut.-Col. Robert Edward Colborne Jarvis. The article states he passed away in Toronto on his 61st birthday. The article is adhered to a thin piece of card stock. At the top by the article title, there are some blue pencil markings. On the reverse, there are two other clippings pasted to the card stock, neither of which are related to the front article. Both are partial clippings from different stories.

HISTORY:The article was found with a collection of Jarvis family papers. Lieutenant Colonel Robert Jarvis (1842-1903) was the youngest son of Lieutenant Colonel William Botsford Jarvis (1799-1856). He went to school at Upper Canada College and joined the British Army in 1859. He was a member of the 100th Royal Canadian Regiment and later switched to the 69th Regiment, whom he retired from in 1882. He was the brother-in-law of E. A. Meredith (the late Mr. George Murray Jarvis) and uncle to Col. and A. M. Nanton.
