Description: A second edition of a hard cover book with dust jacket. .1) The dust jacket contains an illustration of a woman with a dog. The woman is wearing a white dress and plaid shawl. The dog is black. The title is across the bottom with the author's name. The spine contains the author's name, title, publisher, and price: "3'6 net". The back contains summaries of two books by the author, Broster. .2) The book cover is blue with title, author and publisher on spine in gold print. Frontispiece is a map of a part of Scotland. The next page has a title and "K. Sayers" written in pencil. The title page has the title, author, and publisher information with a list of other works by author opposite. There are 357 pages. .3) The front flap piece of the dust jacket (now separated from it) containing part of a review from the Times Literary Supplement. It is inserted at page 1 in the book. History: Kathleen Agnes Sayers (ne Colloton) (1907 -1981) was Geoffrey Harris Sayers' wife. Geoffrey Sayers and his wife Kathleen (ne Colloten) married in 18 November 1933 at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Erindale, which the Harris family had been members for almost a hundred years. Geoff and Kay occupied Benares from 1969 until 1981. They kept a small display of artifacts in the kitchen, and opened up the house once a year to the public. Kay and Geoffrey never had any children and were the last Harris relatives to live at Benares.
