Canadian Forces Veterans and a companion may ride free with MiWay on Saturday, August 18,
2012 in celebration of the Warriors' Day Parade. This year Canada is commemorating the 200th
anniversary of the War of 1812.
"This is a small token of our appreciation for the personal sacrifices made by Canadian
Forces veterans in their service to Canada," said Geoff Marinoff, director, Transit.
To ride free, veterans must wear their uniforms, medals or another item that clearly identifies
them as a veteran to a transit operator.
The Warriors' Day Parade, held at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, is an annual
event to recognize veterans and their service. This year, the parade will mark the 200th
