Description: Sketch of the residence of William Elliot, Esq., Meadowvale, taken from the 1877 Historical Atlas of Peel County. William Elliott was the eldest son of William Elliott and Frances Hamilton who were born in County Fermanagh, Ireland and were married in Toronto 29th November 1829. They settled on Lot 13, Conc 2 WHS, Toronto Township and lived there until their death, farming their property. They had four children: two sons and two daughters. John H., the youngest son, practised medicine in Fort Erie and died there in 1871. The eldest daughter married William Beattie and lived in Durham County. The second daughter married James M. Bussel of Trafalgar Township. William Elliott, Jr., married Ann Jane Jackson of Trafalgar Township. He was elected a member of the Toronto Township Council in 1866 and continued as a member for seven years, serving as Deputy Reeve and Reeve. Description as of March 2012.
