Description: Main Street in Port Credit, also known as the Lakeshore Highway, looking west. On the left is Hamilton's store. According to Kathleen Hicks's book, "Port Credit: Past to Present", it was the first road to be cemented in Canada, in 1914. The Toronto and Mimico Radial Railway ran along the Lakeshore from Yonge Street to Stavebank Road in Port Credit. In 1906, the cost for a return ticket from Stavebank to Yonge was 18 cents.
