Description: From "The Story of My Life", by Egerton Ryerson, ed. J. G. Hodgins (Toronto: William Briggs, 1883). When they first moved to the Credit in 1826 the Indians lived in wigwams. Once their log cabins had been built, they moved in, two families sharing each one. The illustration and descriptive text are from "The Mississauga of New Credit", by Donald B. Smith with the assistance of Bryan LaForme, Volume 22 of "Canada's Visual History", from the National Museum of Man, National Museums of Canada and the National Film Board of Canada.
