Description: Arthur Beveridge Harris, the only surviving son of Capt. James Harris, was born in Clarkson 4 February 1843, and died 26 March 1932. He married Mary Magrath, the granddaughter of the Rev. James Magrath, first rector of St. Peter’s Erindale. They had three children, Margaret who died young, Annie and Naomi. Arthur inherited Benares by the terms of Capt. James Harris’s will, as follows:" ...to my wife, Elizabeth Harris, during her lifetime, the whole of my property .... at her demise to my only son, Arthur Beveridge Harris, his heirs and assigns, all that certain property known as Benares, the northern 3/4 parts of Lots no. 27 and 28, 2nd Concession South Dundas Street, containing 270 acres".
