Description: Streetsville Friend Mary Manning

Mary Manning was born in 1919 and lived in Streetsville for most of her life. A well-known local author, and historian, Mary wrote numerous essays and articles profiling various aspects of Streetsville's history. She played an active role in the Streetsville Public Library and served as its long-time librarian/manager and later served as a member of the board. Mary was one of the founding members of the Streetsville Historical Society and served a term as president. Today, the Mary Manning collection, consisting of records created and/or accumulated by Mary, resides with the Region of Peel Archives.

Mary is interred in Streetsville Public Cemetery. The bench, plaque and tree were placed here by the Streetsville Historical Society to signify their enduring appreciation for Mary's countless contributions.
