Description: 1057 Old Derry Road. Conc 3 WHS, pt. Lot 11 E. The Commercial Hotel was also known as the Brick Hotel. It was built by Matthew Laidlaw, in 1852, and was one of the first commercial hotels in Meadowvale. It is a single-detached 2 storey structure, with a foundation of Credit valley stone. Originally the building had a stacked open verandah which ran the length of the front facade, but this was removed, probably before 1900. Designated under the terms of the Ontario Heritage Act.
