Description: Some of the cars parked at the Terry estate at one of the annual strawberry festivals, put on by the Clarkson Lorne Park Women's Institute. The Clarkson Women's Institute would hold annual strawberry festivals for the patients of the Dominion Orthopaedic Hospital at Christie Street, known as the Christie Street Hospital. This hospital, which opened in 1919, was the only facility for veterans which provided amputees with artificial limbs and treated soldiers from all over the country. These annual festivals were held at the home of Mrs. Charles Terry. |
