Description: The Rattray Marsh is a protected natural conservation area, accessible from Meadow Wood Road (north of Orr Road) or through Jack Darling Memorial Park. In Wilmot's survey the marsh was originally called Cranberry Marsh. It was bought by Major James Rattray in 1945. After his death in 1959 various groups fought to save the marsh as a conservation area. Elevated wooden pathways are designed to protect the natural vegetation. This photo was taken to give a feeling for how the marsh is used.
