Description: 85 Queen Street South. Plan STR, 2, pt. Lot 93. William Graydon, Sr. built this house for his son, William Graydon, Jr. who moved there in 1855 with his bride, Elizabeth Wright. The brick garage was originally Graydon’s shoemaking shop. The house was also the site of the murder of Joe Cong, a Chinese laundryman, in 1910. The house is a rectangular plan structure of two storeys with a medium pitch gable roof. It is listed on the Heritage Register. This 1976 photo shows the front façade of the building.
