Description: 26 Main Street. Plan STR 4 pt. Lot 1 &2 RP43R18132 Part 2. This is a five bay, one-and-a-half storey building, rectangular in plan, with a gable roof. An addition and screened porch on the north elevation forms a T-shaped plan. The house sits in the heart of Streetsville, located on the south-east corner of Main and Church Streets. The house was bought in 1863 by James Gooderham and had many occupants after his death in 1879. Around 1950 it served as the parish centre for St. Joseph's Roman Catholic church. It is listed on the Heritage Register. This undated photo is of the main entrance, a six panel door with fluted pilasters on either side.
