Description: In 1983 a proposal was made to build a $175 million domed stadium on 2,000 vacant acres in Mississauga. The project, known as the Trillium Dome, would have been located at the northwest corner of Highways 401 and 10. Mississauga's proposal was only one of 34 proposed sites for the domed stadium which was eventually built in Toronto beside the CN Tower in 1989. Photograph shows drawing of the proposed Dome. Copies of photographs and plans by Mississauga Library System from Trillium Dome, 1983. This photo shows the Location Plan for the proposed Trillium Dome. |
