Description: 395 Fairview Road West. Plan M826, Blk 134. Dr. Martin Dobkin Community Park includes a soccer field, softball diamond, tennis court and a play area. The park is named after Dr. Martin Dobkin, a practising family physician and former Peel County coroner. He ran for Mayor of the Town of Mississauga in 1973 against incumbent Charles 'Chic' Murray and won, becoming the first mayor of the new City of Mississauga. During his term of office Dobkin took on the developers. Rattray Marsh, the Adamson Estate, the Cawthra-Elliott Estate, Erindale Woodlands and the Cooksville Creek area were saved from development. However, Dobkin lost his bid for re-election in 1976 to Ron Searle. Description as of March 2016.
