Description: Aerial photo of Jack Darling Park in winter. In 1971 the firm of Crysler & Lathem, consulting engineers, was retained by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority to prepare a plan for the development of the Mississauga waterfront sector of the Metropolitan Toronto Planning Area. Jack Darling Park was one of the areas they covered. The park at 1180 Lakeshore Road West was named after Jack Darling, a former President of the Mississauga Hockey League (formerly the Toronto Township Hockey League). He was an active member of the Clarkson community and was appointed to the Committee of Adjustment in 1968. He is credited with convincing the Ontario Research Foundation to establish in Sheridan Park. He died of a heart attack in 1969.
