Description: On October 15, 1954, Hurricane Hazel blew up through New York and Pennsylvania after destroying much of Haiti. Hazel combined with an extreme low pressure system to produce high winds and strong rain which produced severe floods in Toronto and the Holland Marsh area. The Humber River and the Etobicoke Creek were so flooded that whole areas around were devastated. This picture shows houses in Hog's Hollow, along Yonge Street, overturned by the flood waters of the hurricane. Original photo at Museums of Mississauga. Description as of September 2012.
