Description: Huron Park Recreation Centre (now known as Huron Park Community Centre) was opened in 1967. Situated at 830 Paisley Boulevard (the address was formerly 2460 Stavebank Road), on 50 acres of park land, the Centre included an arena, a theatre, an Olympic-sized indoor pool, dining room, meeting rooms, squash and handball courts. In the park area were floodlit baseball diamonds, soccer fields, running and walking trails and picnic sites. The community centre was re-designed and upgraded in 2004 to include a therapy pool, full-size gymnasium, new and improved banquet facilities, new splash pad, leisure trails, an outdoor volleyball court and an event plaza for community gatherings and special events.
