Description: 170 Church Street. Plan STR-4, Lots 5, 6, pt Lots 3, 4. Russell Langmaid Public School was built in 1939 at a cost of $23,427.50 and was the oldest continuing public school in Streetsville. It was named for Russell Langmaid, a Streetsville veteran of the First World War and one of the founders in 1925 of the Streetsville Overseas Veterans Club, Branch 139 which in 1928 became a branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. As a result of declining enrollment the Peel District Board of Education made the decision to close the school in June 2010 and move the current student population to Ray Underhill or Dolphin Senior Public School. The Council of the City of Mississauga voted to purchase the school building for the community. Description as of December 2010.
