Description: 4030 Dixie Road. Conc 2 NDS pt. Lot 6. This was originally the site of the Primitive Methodist Church, the third built by the congregation, of red brick. The first Primitive Methodist Church is said to have been on the west side of Third Line (Dixie Road) 900 feet south of Burnhamthorpe. It was succeeded by a frame building, then by the third church, which was built on land given by Samuel Moore, on the northwest corner of Burnhamthorpe and Dixie. The building was dedicated in 1874. In 1925 it became the Burnhamthorpe United Church and served the congregation for over 100 years, finally closing in June 1978. The church was sold and was used by various denominations over the years. It is presently part of the Greek Orthodox Diocese and is listed on the Heritage Register.
