Description: Annie Hood Turner, a well-known Clarkson artist and teacher, was born in Sheffield, England, daughter of a well-known artist, Reid Turner. In her autobiography, Ringing the Changes, Mazo de la Roche wrote about Miss Turner, describing how she came to Canada and rented a room in the same house in Toronto where Mazo lived. Later Annie Hood Turner moved to Clarkson, where she lived till her death in 1948.
