Description: The following newspaper excerpt is from the Barnett Scrapbook, vol. 5: Clarkson School S. S. No. 6, 'Toronto Township, is holding its annual Field Day on Wednesday afternoon, September 18th, at 2 p.m., standard time. The pupils will parade in masquerade costume. Following this, novelty races will be run, including a girls' skipping contest in costume. Ice cream and hot dogs will be sold on the ground. A bake sale will also be conducted. Inside the school, the pupils' work of the past year will be on exhibition, every child's work being shown. S. S. No. 5 will be guest of the afternoon. Everyone come and make this a real success. Proceeds of the afternoon will be used to rent films for the school moving picture machine.'
